I have said here before‚ that in leading up to the 2002 Golden Jubilee‚ the BBC were so left of centre in poo pooing the very idea of Britishness that you could fair feel their solidarity to the Labour party and the Republican feeling against the Royals. Well they were proved wrong with over 1 million people marching down the Mall‚ and consequently years later in 2012 the people came out again. But what did the BBC do‚ they suddenly became the media of promoting the Royals. Here at the Olympics they have positively pontificated about how wonderful it is to feel pround to be British. Flags everywhere‚ remember Councils under Blair and Gordon Brown trying to‚ and succeeding in removing and not allowing flags of our country to be flown. Well the tide has changed. We are ENGLISH and proud of it.
