First went there with three pals 2 years ago on a walking weekend in the Lakes‚ and stayed in a lovely cottage just outside of Cockermouth. Enjoyed the social scene in the town‚ and got the impression of a tight nit community trying to eek out a living in a town‚ in some what of a time warp. It reminded me of England in the 50’s you saw on good old black and white films. My heart felt wishes for Cockermouth. I will return in 2010 for a weekend and support the community in spending some money in the shops‚restaurants and pubs.
