So it is now official less than 25% of English people think good manners and general courtesy are important. You cannot build a society on such weak foundations. With the plethera of soaps and programmes like Shameless being watched by young teenagers in their own bedrooms‚ the level of violence shown and swearing is bound to rub off them. To cap it all most teenagers cannot compose a basic letter‚ hence the age of the computer and emails. The majority of people my age just want to get off this planet and go back to the good old times. Call me an old romantic and clinging to nostalgia‚ but hey the fifties‚ those were the good times.
