Now I quite like a beer or two‚ being a member of CAMRA is a worthy cause. Approximately 40 pubs a month are closing down‚ due to various reasons‚ smoking ban‚ excessive duty on beer‚ recession‚ rates and rents too high to make a lot of pubs viable. I agree there are some poor pubs in grotty areas which probably have seen better times‚ and with our changing habits aligning with our continental friends‚ in alot of us now drinking wine at home‚ it is obvious we will get natural wastage. But pubs are this countries culture‚ support them where you can. Join CAMRA‚ it is cheap per year‚ you get goodies‚ and there are so many beer festivals in lovely parts of the country including a circular walk or a railway journey close by. Many micro breweries have set up in the last 5 years enhancing the beer range all over the country. Try them out you are missing out if you don’t. But lets remember DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE‚
