Back in the late 70’s and 80’s I dated a medical secretary in a new private hospital. I had just secured BUPA cover through my employer‚ when I needed 4 wisdom teeth out. Major dental operation excellent service. I can remember saying then that the only way to secure the NHS is to privatize it‚ and offer private insurance to all who wish to take it on levels of cover‚ and for those who are needy and cannot afford medical cover (usually the poor and feckless or aged) a level of basic cover. And do you know why I said this (to which her mother was not impressed) is because I could see that immigration had begun to get out of control and people were abusing the system. Well welcome to 2013‚ and guess what. It is now at breaking point. We all know why‚ immigrants abusing the system‚ but you won’t hear this from the politicians‚ why? because they have known this for years and cannot bring themselves to admit the truth. The truth is WE HAVE TOO MANY PEOPLE ON THE ISLAND for the system to work. When the NHS was introduced in 1948 after the war it was for the British people to have basic cover for FREE s long as you paid your NI and STAMP IN THE WORKPLACE‚ not the bloody DSS where you have benefit feckless cretins‚ falling injured from induced toxic drugs and alcohol injuries‚ getting FREE medical care and not paying in but taking out of the pot. We have to radical change the NHS or adapt my suggestion that for all new people entering the country they cannot have NHS cover for up to 3 years‚ after paying in National Insurance they qualify. Spain have started to ignore the E111 arrangement agreed in Europe. We must toughen up. Share your suggestions to us.
